Diagnosed and found the r22- 3 year old coil txv to be bad. Coil was replaced by another company but they used the original txv. This covers changing the txv and 6lbs of r22 refrigerant. 01/Jul/25 (2006 90% Trane gas furnace) We replaced the failed TXV with a Aftermarket OEM TXV, we pressurized the system to 300psig to ensure all of the braze joint are leak free and there are not any leaks in the line set or the evaporator coil. I added refrigerant to the system to bring it up to operational pressures, I also set the txv to optimize the system. The unit is currently operational and no longer freezing.

Existing capacitor tested faulty. Spare capacitor was installed to get up and running well technician went to supply house to get correct capacitor to install. Correct capacitor was installed and after waiting for anti-short cycle to end, unit is now running and cooling.

I replaced the compressor capacitor and indoor txv Refrigerant metering device, which fixed the problem. The unit is now operating within factory specs.
